Bradford entrepreneur with both feet now firmly in the past

Bradford entrepreneur, Trudy Fielding

Bradford entrepreneur, Trudy Fielding who introduced the state-of-the art Nutribullet to retail stores around the UK, is now indulging her passion for all things vintage.

Last weekend she launched her vintage fashion Studio, Vintage-Beau last weekend in Belmont Business Centre, Burnett Street, Little Germany, selling everything from gowns and glasses to ties and top hats to the city’s foremost trendsetters.

Speaking of her new venture Trudy Fielding said, “As national account manager for various high-profile companies, the hours were long, roles demanding, but financially rewarding, (my comfort blanket), yet I yearned for a better quality of life in the longer term.

“Then came Vintage Beau. The business started small, buying and selling vintage clothes and accessories within a group of friends from my home in Bradford. However, it wasn’t long before I found myself selling timeless fashion pieces at specialist events, stores and other vintage-inspired fairs.

“My biggest challenge by far is meeting the growing demand for vintage fashion. In order to continue to offer my customers the wide variety of choice they seek while also preparing to open my own shop front, I kept all of my stock in a storage unit at Incredible Bulk Self Storage. It is not as though I can pop out to a high street store and buy six of the same dress in different sizes. I have to purchase stock when it becomes available or miss out on some fabulous pieces. The storage space has, therefore, been integral to my business expansion”.

Following the successful launch of her vintage Studio, Fielding plans to continue to develop her in house sales & event & expand on her UK & International online sales and her Fashion Stylist offer into her expanding company.

The Self Storage Association estimates that more than 10,000 new enterprises were launched last year in UK self storage containers.

Typical business sectors range from stationery distributors to photography studios; fashion designers to health product retailers; kitchen designers to drone doctors and the numbers are set to grow year on year.

Up to 42% of all self storage units throughout the UK are rented to start-up or established businesses. Self storage is increasingly being seen as the most cost-effective, flexible, secure, accessible, functional, common sense solution to renting premium business space.
