Businesses in Bradford’s Top of Town area have got together to celebrate Christmas with an early Christmas Party on Saturday 25 November.
As part of the event the Bradford Council-run Oastler Shopping Centre will be hosting the second Bradford Print Fair in and around its new Market Event Space between 11am -5pm.
The Print Fair will showcase and sell a range of print, design and illustrations from over 30 artists all based in the North of England.
A previous fair, held as part of the city’s North Parade Street Festival, proved so successful that many of the illustrators and print makers signed up again to sell in the market.
The ever popular Sparrow Café will be bringing a pop-up bar to the market, where owner Les will be serving European beers, wines and spirits, with a specialty mulled cider between 10am and 5pm.
The fabulous local vegan chef, Sonia Sandhu will bring her Vegan Pop-Up Stall serving a range of delicious vibrant festive Indian street food in a stall next to the Sparrow’s pop-up bar between 11.30am and 5pm.
The party will spill out on to the Oastler Square there will be a festive arts, crafts and local produce market hosted by Made Bradford bringing local artisan traders and artists selling high-quality handmade goods and foods.
Brick Box animation will also be putting on street entertainment in the Square and around the Top of Town area involving local businesses, the public and market traders.
Cllr Alex Ross-Shaw, Bradford council’s Executive Member for Regeneration, Planning and Transport, said: “We are very excited at the prospect of holding the next print fair in our indoor market as part of the Top of Town Christmas Party. Bradford is a fantastic location for local printmaking artists to exhibit and sell their work as it holds a long history of heritage, culture and community which is reflected in some of the prints available for people to buy at this event.
“We hope that this will attract a new crowd to the top of town area. The indie art scene is really coming along in Bradford and we are looking forward to being a part of it.”
Rosie Freeman, Director, The Brick Box, said: “Oastler Market is such a fantastic resource in the city for food, drink and shopping, so we’re really happy to be celebrating the market this Christmas with the Top of Town Christmas Party.
“People can visit on the day to buy presents at the Print Fair, find out how to make some of Sonia’s wonderful recipes using ingredients from the market, have a drink from the Sparrow’s pop-up bar and take a look around all the stalls. Outside we’ll have tunes, hot drinks, and elves delivering Christmas post, as well as Made Bradford’s food and gifts.”
