Fans of Michael McIntyre’s Big Show are in for a treat as the hit Saturday night entertainment extravaganza is set to make a triumphant return to BBC One and iPlayer in 2024. Following a highly successful run earlier this year, which garnered an impressive average of 6.3 million viewers per episode, the upcoming series promises to be bigger and better than ever before.

Produced by Hungry McBear Media and filmed in front of a live audience at the prestigious Theatre Royal, Drury Lane, this eagerly awaited show will once again bring together a stellar lineup of superstar guests, jaw-dropping musical performances, and a multitude of surprises that will leave viewers on the edge of their seats.

Among the beloved segments making a comeback are “Send to All” and “The Midnight Gameshow,” which are guaranteed to make celebrities break into a nervous sweat. In the previous series, familiar faces such as Rylan Clarke, Alison Hammond, Jermaine Jenas, and Jonathan Ross relinquished control of their phones, allowing Michael McIntyre to delve into their personal lives. This time around, the question on everyone’s lips is: Who will grant Michael access to their cherished handsets?

However, it’s not just the daytime shenanigans that will keep audiences entertained. Brace yourselves for more amusing midnight wake-up calls, as Michael plans to surprise even more famous faces in the middle of the night with the uproarious “Midnight Gameshow.” Who can forget the hilarious moments when Peter Crouch was roused from his slumber while on holiday in Portugal or when Rob Rinder was startled awake by the mischievous Sooty and Sweep at the foot of his bed? This season promises even more uproarious awakenings.

Adding to the excitement, the show will feature a host of incredible surprises for the audience, including captivating performances from the much-anticipated “Unexpected Star of the Show.” With previous instalments showcasing ordinary individuals with extraordinary talent, viewers can expect to be wowed once again by hidden gems discovered by Michael McIntyre himself.

Michael McIntyre says “There isn’t a day that goes by without someone telling me how much they love this show, although strangely nobody seems to know what it’s called. It’s either; ’The one where you take people’s phones’, ’The one where you wake people up in the night’, ’The one where the wall falls down’ or ’The Big Night in’. Well, I’m thrilled to announce that all four of those shows are set to return for a seventh series!”

Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment at the BBC says “We are thrilled to have Michael McIntyre’s Big Show back on BBC One and iPlayer, it’s a show full of joy with laugh out loud moments and surprises on unexpecting celebrities. I cannot wait to see who Michael with his comedic brilliance will be waking up this series and whose phone he will peek into. It really is unmissable on a Saturday night”.

Earlier this year, Michael McIntyre’s Big Show series 6 generated over 90 million global video views across the BBC’s social media accounts, including big viral hits such as Lewis Capaldi’s Send to All and Peter Crouch’s Midnight Gameshow.

Michael McIntyre’s Big Show has been commissioned by Kalpna Patel-Knight, Head of Entertainment at the BBC. The Executive Producers for Hungry McBear Media are Dan Baldwin and Saul Fearnley. The Commissioning Editor for the BBC is Clodagh O’Donoghue.

Transmission details for Michael McIntyre’s Big Show will be announced in due course.
